'Deprecated' is too harsh a word IMHO – if you want to use inverted
symbols for the left foot, for example, you will need them.  Let's say
that `\ltoe` and siblings are demoted to being commands for accessing
certain glyph shapes.

Well, if you need an extensive apparatus of user-defined macros and/or
Scheme functions for these additional features, they should probably
be added to the LSR instead, and the NR might reference them.  Please
bear in mind that, first and foremost, the NR should describe what
LilyPond provides by default.
