There is no hurry at all for updating makelsr.pl. But I thought snippets were not downloaded from LSR during the build but rather fetched from files committed to Git and updated every 6 months or so? (It looks like the latest import is from January.) Then there is no problem in switching soonish and updating the script later before doing the next import, is there? There is no urgency to switch either but I'd rather avoid having to port any edits from LSR to the wiki. > Additionally, we have to discuss the policy how snippets are handled > in the Wiki. That's a lot of snippets (~400, or ~40% of the total), and IMHO, the main advantage of a wiki and of the current LSR is that mere users who don't have the technical understanding or time and energy to contribute to the official repository can contribute improvements with very little friction. Also, if I were to check edits for spam before they get displayed with the brand of the official documentation, I'd rather be doing "git diff" after running makelsr.pl and scroll through all snippets at the same time, as happens now, rather than click on each notification from a list. One thing is certain: if changes must be approved, there needs to be someone watching them. (LSR required approval for new snippets and I remember this taking months for some snippets I submitted.)
