Nicolas Joyard proposes adding sequencer-specific MIDI events to enable
point-and-click interoperation with players like Frescobaldi.
One parameter of these events is a registered manufacturer ID, which
leads to this discussion:

There is a one-time fee which is small enough not to be a barrier.
Is there an ideal person to contact the MIDI Association and ask about
getting an ID? (I don't want to be in the loop.) I would expect some
discussion about which person or organization will be licensed to use
the ID.
