In my logic the two lines indicate the first line of notes. So I would
expect the "p" on top in both cases.
If you find that logic or not, I know to handle such problems now. I
have to thank you very much and I am out and away from this thread.

Please be more explicit. I may only guess that the ‘inconsistency’
you’re referring to is the different direction of the TextScript:
above/below the staff.
