The only way I know is to transpose the quote:
\addQuote "someNotes" \someNotes
\addQuote "someNotes_8vb" \transpose c c, \someNotes
That being said, I would love an option to write
\addQuote c c, \someNotes
or
\addQuote #-12 \someNotes
