that's what OLy already does when calling the LilyPond executable. It leads to 
the error message that Raphael has quoted.
Some Linux distros contain LilyPond binaries that are missing some code needed 
for the cairo backend. Obviously there must be an option to include or exclude 
that part when compiling a LilyPond executable.
