Suggestions

Hello folks.  I'm new to this area of engraving my compositions.  Is there
a Linux distribution that will work seamlessly with the current stable
versions of Lilypond and Frescobaldi?  I've tried once before using my
older Mac but ran into road blocks.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
