Hello,

I am engraving a psalm chant for a choir. It is Anglican chant, but in this
edition, all verses need to be written out in full.

I am working on one musical note that is a reciting note under which twelve
words of lyrics are written. All twelve words are sung to that one note.

I want to add a “long fermata” on the word “Lord” to indicate to singers a
lengthening of that word. The long fermata should be paired with the lyric:
printed directly above the line of text and centered over “Lord.” Here is a
mockup of how I want the output to look, with a long fermata added to the
PDF using a digital pen:

I cannot use \longfermata on the musical note, because the fermata applies
only to this one word, “Lord.”

I tried to add the script glyph scripts.ulongfermata to a word of the
lyrics, but that did not work. Below my signature is the code that I tried.

Does anyone know of a way to produce the output that I need?

Thank you in advance!

Gabriel

% CODE THAT DID NOT WORK:

verse = \lyricmode {

  \once \override LyricText.self-alignment-X = #LEFT

  Not_unto_us,_O_\markup { \column { \line { \musicglyph
#"scripts.ulongfermata" } \line { “Lord” } }},_not_unto_us,_//_but

}
