In Frescobaldi, go to the LilyPond menu, and select Engrave (publish). I do this right before I share a PDF with the musicians who will be using it. This way, the musicians reading off iPads will no longer see the “blue boxes.” If you want to double-check that the PDF is correctly engraved for *distribution*: Open it in Acrobat and mouse over a note head. If you find that the note head is “clickable,” you have “the blue boxes problem.” Gabriel
