This is very nice, thanks! Looking at the examples I noticed that the
'melting point' seems to depend on the stem length: if there are
beams, the melting point has a larger distance to the note heads than
without. Is there a reason for this? In Gould's examples ('Behind
Bars', p. 51), the distance to the note heads is fixed, regardless of
a beam; see attached image.
