I wanted to echo Werner’s gratitude, as well. I think I have seen this before
somewhere, and I remember being mesmerized!

Perhaps beside the point, yet I cannot help but notice in Gould’s image the way
the stem connects with the half note a’… It seems quite sloppy. It is likely a
result of the manual notehead adjustment the editor had to do for creating a
musical example using a certain proprietary software.
