denoting some small augmentation: it should be a small semicircle or a
fermata symbol without dot.
Have you tried something such as:
a-\markup { \postscript #"0 0 2 0 180 arc stroke" }
(It works here, but not with all PDF software; does anyone knows how
to produce "sane" PostScript output?
