Why not using the `semicirculus' glyph from the parmesan font? I think this is better than using explicit PS code...
AFAIK, the \semicirculus is upside down compared to what Bert's looking for; so in that case one would have to rotate it by 180° (which might, or might not, be simpler than explicit Postscript).
