I was just about to write a bitterish email about the frustration caused by the page layout mechanism. :-) It seems that the described problem exists also on pages with no title or header. I just created a two page music sheet. On the second page there's over 40 mm of free space between the bottom margin and the last system. If I increase the bottom margin by just four millimeters the last system is split and the whole schmeer is laid out onto three pages. On the first page everything is still OK even though it's more tightly set than the second one. If I set the ragged-last-bottom to false then the music is laid out to two pages but the systems are spread out vertically and the result looks ugly. Sometimes I've got around by setting the bottom margin to a carefully tested negative value but this time it's not possible because I must use a footer (copyright texts). Negative margins don't sound very professional anyway. :-) Another thing I've learned to hate is that the header / title section is considered as another system. Positioning the first system precisely and consistently in different compositions (e.g. when making a song book) is difficult or impossible. The program creates quite a pleasing results but the difficult page layout mechanism kind of takes away the joy of it. I'll be eagerly waiting for the 2.11.35. :-) Best Regards, Risto -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/page-breaks-related-to-header-size-tf4781502.html#a13701420 Sent from the Gnu - Lilypond - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
