Hi everybody, I'd like to thank David and the two Trevors for their input on this issue.
I've decided to follow the approach of examples in isolation for the majority of cases, plus fuller examples where warranted. Once I've added a few snippets, we'll get a clearer idea of what's likely to work best, so please don't hesitate to comment further once I've started.
