Hi, I meant to say that it's possible to cut another release, but given that tarballs are due in a few hours we need the testing done ASAP anyway.
You can't file a critical bug hours before tarballs are due, get a turnaround time of a few minutes, and then not respond for 6 hours without disrupting the release process. I have just finished validating a release without this change as I hadn't heard anything. That work will have to be repeated if we want to get this in.
