This isn't much help, but maybe someone out there has a copy of the _Linux
Multimedia Guide_ and knows what I'm talking about. I have to admit that
when that book came out I brushed it off -- this was what, over a year ago,
and at the time I thought that most real multimedia stuff for Linux was in
the "up-and-coming" stage and that the book would probably be mainly a
discussion on how to configure your sound cards and other equipment as well
as lots of stuff I wouldn't be interested in.

Browsing through this book at a bookstore the other day, I see that I was
wrong. There's a lot of material on image modelling and creating new images,
and it makes mention of an X program that acts as a POVray file generator,
allowing you to draw a picture on the screen which it turns into the
appropriate POVray input. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
