I wonder if the pressure from Microsoft's
Internet Explorer brought about this change
of strategy, or if the Netscape people (who
started out as NCSA Mosaic people) really
feel that that "Open Development" is the
way of the future? I'm sure that OEM's will
be more inclined to include a copy of Netscape
in their bundle's if it is free... unless MS is
really pressuring the OEM's to only include
IE in the bundles... which is what the Justice
Dept. is investigating, from what I hear.
