-[TV Audio Recording.]- Yesterday

 |Installed a Hauppauge WinTV-GO tuner card recently.
 |Using xawtv with it, and no trouble encountered with
 |what features that provides--capturing jpeg stills, AVI
 |clips. What it doesn't provide is a command to record
 |audio alone, and I'd like to pull a WAV/AIFF-file from
 |a VCR tape toward using BladeEnc to create an mp3.
 |The Hauppage card just cables into line-in on the sound
 |card--this shouldn't be too complicated, on the other
 |hand, I haven't any experience with sound recording.
 |I gave wavrec a whirl--really don't favor command line
 |interface for this purpose, but in failing to work, it did
 |report that /dev/dsp is kept busy by xawtv. Any advice?
