Hi Michael and others at this list:
I've discovered, recently, the Design Science License, DSL, at www.dsl.org.
I've got some questions about its application to a public email discussion
list (Majordomo).
I want to invoke the license for all the lists I create and maintain at
SportSurf.Net and FreeTeam.Org. Getting the subscribers to migrate to the
new list POLICY isn't going to be a problem -- as the lists are mostly dead
now. So, I'm not going to have a civil war there, but I do have some
rubber-meeting-the-road types of questions. Thanks in advance for the help
and thinking.
To do:
+ Info about the DSL is at my site in the "welcome page" for the list(s).
http://www.SportSurf.Net/SUBSCRIPTIONS/for/412
+ The DSL is re-posted at my site too.
http://www.SportSurf.Net/help/welcome/dslicense.html
+ The DSL is going to be a "global policy" throughout all the lists hosted
at my sites. This will be clearly stated in all sorts of places:
.info files
.welcome files
FAQ documents, etc.
And, most of all, the footers of ever message posted from these lists will
include info on how to unsubscribe and something like this as a DSL tag.

To unsubscribe from "THIS-LIST": XXXXXXX
To send your message to all the Subscribers: YYYYYY
To personal attention: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The expressed and implied intent is for all of the contents of this public
email discussion group to be released under the Digital Science License.

So, what are the ramifications of MAKING folks follow this license as part
of an email public discussion group?
Do you think I should be doing anything else?
Reactions welcomed.
