GIMP does do this - I just did a quick Save As of a JPEG, and there's
a box for image comments. Is there a way to automate this? I'd hope
someone with more knowledge of script fu could be able to hack
something together that would let you browse and/or comment a bunch of
files in one directory. It looks like the file-jpeg-save has a
comment value that could be exploited, but I know almost nothing about
scripting in the GIMP...
