Lincoln Public Schools are having an extremely busy week on the COVID-19 front. Superintendent Becky McFall reported a total of 15 positive cases by Wednesday in Lincoln and Hanscom. With holidays approaching, we once again urge everyone in the community to follow good COVID-19 protocols. Wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene, distance appropriately. If you or your children are eligible, please get vaccinated.
Keeping the community safe helps keep our schools safe. Dr. McFall notified school families today that routine weekly testing of students and employees took place Tuesday morning. The results began to come in and indicated that four pools on the Hanscom campus and two pools on the Lincoln campus showed positive for COVID-19. Our administrators and testing teams began the process of carrying out rapid tests to identify positive individuals within the pools. This process produced one positive result in 5 of the pools and the 6th pool did not produce a positive outcome. The individual swabs for everyone in these 6 pools are still out for testing, and we anticipate receiving confirmation of our findings tomorrow. It is possible that the individual PCR tests could present additional positive results since it is a more robust testing method than the rapid test. Thank you for your support in working to keep our children and employees healthy and in school.
