Arthur,

We had an excellent experience last spring working with Basnett. Great family
run business. They figured out how to work a modern heat-pump HVAC system into
our funky old house. Reasonable pricing. Spotless cleanup after every day on
site. https://www.basnettplumbing.com/. (978) 486-3767.

Hi Arthur,
A central heat pump would use an air handler like your current system but the
compressor would be outside. It would have the advantage of heating and
cooling in one unit. I put some possible contacts below that had been collected
from Lincoln Talks and put on a google sheet by Alice of the Squirrel.

A good cold climate, variable speed heat pump will usually cost a bit more than
the air conditioner you are replacing. There are rebates and tax incentives
from the state and federal government. The state is looking at setting much
higher incentives that will hopefully go into effect at the end of January.

Getting an estimate form some of the companies below will give you a good idea
of options for your home. Be sure that they offer you a heat pump that
qualifies for incentives to insure you are buying one that can handle our
climate.

Belinda
