If your children are on Lincoln Talk or scrolling through Lincoln Talk and see this, maybe it’s a good time to discuss the difference between how the human body is eloquently shown in these paintings over other negative avenues. Could be a great teaching tool for kids who have porn thrown in their faces via the internet and believe that porn is a true representation of what the human body looks like. Love the paintings! Would we avoid a room in a museum because we might encounter paintings of nudes there? Paintings are not porn, for heaven’s sake, and every artist any of us admire painted from nude models in art school as part of their training AND HAVE BEEN DOING SO FOR CENTURIES! Of all the things to get one’s knickers in a twist about, nudes generously donated to raise funds for METCO. Seriously? Call me old fashioned, but I feel that maybe not everyone would want their children to see this pictures? Maybe a better way would be to let people know that there are some paintings of nudes being sold, and offering to send them pix only if they request? I know this is going to open a barrage of emails saying that I am a prude, and that the human body is beautiful and worthy of art, ya de ya de, but I'm just sayin'.....Anne Warner On Thu, Apr 28, 2022 at 2:40 PM Joanna Owen Schmergel via Lincoln <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: For sale, with 100% of all proceeds going to the Lincoln METCO Coordinating Committee, a 501(c)3 here in Lincoln: Charlotte Wein signed original oil painting of nude, drawn from life 24.5” X 36.5” $168 [IMG_7237.JPG] [IMG_7238.JPG] [IMG_7239.JPG] [IMG_7240.JPG] [IMG_7241.JPG] About the artist: Charlotte Wein was born in New York City in the 1940’s.
