I'm sorry ladies, the goal of these emails is to raise money for Metco and not
to make anyone feel uncomfortable about their preferences. We all have
different tastes and we all choose to hang what gives us pleasure in our homes.
It does not need to become a life lesson.  I'm sure there are lots of people
on both sides of the fence.  Joanna has done an amazing job of not only listing
art but also trying to give background on the items.   I think it is a simple
consideration for those that are a little shy.  Not a moral issue.

Amen-well said, Kathy!
Does the MFA have a sign out front, alerting all who enter there are nudes
inside?And, I don’t remember any “warning” when I approached Michelangelo’s
“David”And, I do recall full frontal nudity on the ceiling of the Sistine
Chapel.
oops….

Personally, I’m rather shocked by all of this. Would we avoid a room in a
museum because we might encounter paintings of nudes there? Paintings are not
porn, for heaven’s sake, and every artist any of us admire painted from nude
models in art school as part of their training AND HAVE BEEN DOING SO FOR
CENTURIES! Of all the things to get one’s knickers in a twist about, nudes
generously donated to raise funds for METCO. Seriously?

Yes, that would solve the issue. I can't tell you how many replies I'm getting
from people who have been offended by the male genitalia one in particular.
Notably, none of them have chosen to object publicly!!

Perhaps including "Nude" in the subject line would alert those who would rather
not view the artwork ?

I think they are elegant, beautiful and respectful of the feminine form.
This home has no problem with them.

Is anyone else uncomfortable with art depicting full body nudity, including
graphic depictions of genitalia, being posted on Lincoln Talk?  Call me old
fashioned, but I feel that maybe not everyone would want their children to see
this pictures? Maybe a better way would be to let people know that there are
some paintings of nudes being sold, and offering to send them pix only if they
request?  I know this is going to open a barrage of emails saying that I am a
prude, and that the human body is beautiful and worthy of art, ya de ya de, but
I'm just sayin'.....Anne Warner

Lincoln MCC
Our Vision:
The MCC supports building a strong, anti-racist community in which students and
families with different life experiences feel a deep sense of inclusion and
belonging and recognize, accept, and celebrate each other's differences. We
also support the METCO program by activating caregivers to help attain its
goals and priorities.
Our Mission:
We will achieve our vision by:

   - Creating opportunities for Lincoln resident and Boston resident students
and caregivers to build authentic and lasting relationships and an equitable
exchange of welcoming experiences in both Boston and Lincoln (e.g.,
opportunities for social connection, after school programming for children,
summer camp)
   - Supporting the school and community in its Anti-racism, Inclusion,
Diversity and Equity (AIDE) work (e.g., district NCBI training, caregiver
education)
   - Advocating and supporting the METCO program at both a State and Local level

   - Organizing resources (funding, volunteers) in support of the METCO team
with their work
   - Advocating for conditions that will promote a truly integrated public
school environment (e..g. inclusive curriculum, vision for integration, etc.)
