Thanks Andy, I have spoken with all the usual suspects-all those manufactures reps and distributors. The bottom line, to date, is that there seems to be a huge trade-off in holding in heat, and allowing in sun for warmth. The loser in this is the solar gain.
My old-school approach has been to have blinds open when there is sun, and closed when there is not-works pretty well. The house is 70-72 degrees inside when the sun shines, regardless of how cold outside. It would be nice to know that I can update my windows and sliders without losing all that wonderful warmth/free heat we now enjoy.
