Yes, me and my siblings went through the process of obtaining dual citizenship 
with Italy.
We did not go through a lawyer and worked directly with the Italian Consulate 
in Boston.  You have to first establish eligibility and then there’s a long 
list of required documents.
Nothing happens fast with Italian bureaucracy that is for sure, but other than 
the wait and gathering documents it was relatively easy.
