Yes, there are adult swimming times at Codman. I haven't used the pool for a
while but they used to be at the end of every hour, for like 15 minutes. They
may also have time in the mornings that are dedicated to

Valley Pond is two ponds -- a swimming area and a boating pond. You cannot swim
in the boating pond. There are lanes broken out at VP and many people swim the
perimeter, but it's not that big. I certainly wouldn't call it open water
swimming. You need to be a member to go to Valley Pond, and if you're not
already, the wait list is usually several years.

Walden is probably your best bet for "open water" swimming. Personally, I don't
like to swim there at the height of the summer as it experiences very heavy use
and there are days when the e-coli levels are high.

The Beede Center in Concord has one of the nicest pools in the area and a good
amount of time that's set aside for lap swimming. Regis College also has a very
nice pool and I believe you can get summer memberships.

Hi,
I am looking for information on swimming locally. Is there adult lap swimming
times at Codman pool?
Do folks recommend Valley Pond for open water swimming? And is it better than
Walden Pond?

Thanks,
Jen
