White pond in Concord over by Verrill Farm is also a much better choice
than Walden due to less people- though, illegal dog swimming is and has
always been an issue because no one enforces it- The same dog owners are
the ones who complain about water quality while giving Fido a nice bath,
it’s crazy ;)

In both cases, these great ponds, also known as kettle ponds, are tested at
the shore, were most everything washes up due to a Westerly/easterly wind
flow as opposed to that of several places within / around the ponds should
the state want to execute testing properly but you know how that goes. This
is the same ‘state’ thinking that suggests the commuter rail is a panaceai
for all of us :-)

In the case of Whitepond, there are several entrance points should the
immediate beach be closed to overcrowding or the results of ‘testing’,
which only tells you how good or bad the immediate beach quality might be.
