I will share reports from the Bedford Citizen as they become available. (Or, you can easily subscribe yourself). The reporter on this issue is Mike Rosenberg. He is a seasoned journalist-onetime Editor of the Concord Journal, who hired Susan Fargo to be Editor of the Lincoln Journal-those were the days.
He is former Bedford Selectmen who served along side of me on HATS and HFAC. We dealt with DEIR’s of yore, and other tangles with Massport, as we worked to support the Air Force Base from potential closure. So, Mikes coverage is incredibly well-informed on all aspects and tricky, sticky wickets. And while this delay won’t necessarily stop the project, it puts more sticks in the spokes of the wheel. It will allow for more pressure from both sides to build. And, the Massport Board is a creature of the Gov. The designation of the area and especially. MMNHP as “Endangered” by the Natal Trust put a spotlight on this…and, I am sure, caused great discomfort…as it should! The continued note that this project goes against all the climate goals the Gov professes to advance is another critical pressure point. .
