Well worth going up to Woodman’s in Ipswich.  It’s a little expensive but delicious!  Feels like New England!

It is such a scenic & marvelous place to go & you & your friends could enjoy exploring Plum Island before or after a meal. A friend visiting from Ohio went with her Boston based family members to Bob's Lobster last weekend and had a yummy & wonderful experience.

I support Margo's suggestion. Blue Collar Lobster in Gloucester is authentic on the wharf lobster shack style eating. No formal indoor dining though, but if weather is nice then hard to beat for the historic and proximity-to-beaches experience.
