Yikes. As a Bowles Terrace resident, this concerns me directly. The 5-Year Transportation Coalition plan on the town web indicates pedestrian walkways are planned for Old Sudbury Rd (#4) this year, and for the Tower Rd crossing later, but I've not seen any progress. 
Paint and signage for a crossing would not seem an expensive proposition in my mind.

If you add the 7 accidents at 117/Tower to the nearby 5 accidents at 117/Bowles Terrace as well as the 3 accidents at 117/ Old Sudbury Road it is a total of 15 accidents in the near vicinity which puts the 117/Tower road general area in the top 3 locations for accidents.

Every so often I download a recent year of crash data for Lincoln from the MassDot.gov website and put together the top locations for crashes in Lincoln for a given year.

The data is often entered using different nomenclature and in different columns making it a tedious “hunt & peck” effort to extract the data.

Here is what I have for 2023 to 2024. I believe my numbers for the 5 corners intersection at the library are lower than reality.

I do this because I truly believe putting myself through this exercise burns the trouble spots in town into my brain and keeps my family safer on the road.

Number of Crashes at the following intersections January 2023 to December 2024:

1) Route 2/ Bedford Rd (Crosby’s Corner) : 37 


3) Entered in just as Route 2 in the spreadsheet: 15



6) Route 2A (North Great Rd) / Hanscom Drive: 9


8) South Great Road (Rte 117)/ Concord Road: 5

9) South Great Road (Rte 117)/ Bowles Terrace: 5

10) Lewis Street/ Lincoln Road: 4

11) 5 Corners Intersection at Library: 3 (seems low!) 


13) South Great Road (Rte 117)/ Old Sudbury Road: 3

14) Old Bedford Road/ Hanscom Drive: 3

15) South Great Road (Rte 117)/ Sweet Bay Lane: 3

16) Winter Street/ Old County Road: 3

17) Route 2/ Lexington Road: 3

There were 212 accidents recorded for the year January 2023 to December 2024. These top 17 locations accounted for 142 of the accidents or 67%
