That was not a speed table.
Those were cobblestones, intended to function as a “rumble strip” to alert 
drivers, thinking they might slow down.
Rumble they did, but efficacy for reducing speed was questionable and they were 
removed  as abutters were driven crazy by the R-U-M-B-L-E!
