have you tried copying over from word to notepad (utf-8), or an email
client, to flash?
You can try to get your text file into a flat text (encoded in UTF-8)
and copy from there. Copying unicode text over from word directly often
results in faulty caracters or a bunch of question marks.

Hi Faisal,

I'm copying from Word 2003 using the installed system font "Arial
Unicode
MS". I tried using the same font in Flash 5 but still those question
signs
pop up.

Thanks

Hi Christoffer,

I've tried checking and unchecking all the possible settings, but still,
nothing.

Thanks
