When using 3D in shockwave in a browser this results in an inevitable crash of the browser. For as far as I know this is an issue with the plug-in. So I was wondering is there a way to kill the shockwave player from a browser to prevent the crash ?

I think we can agree that the normal case is to not crash...? If so, then the cause of the difference in this case might be in the configuration, or might be in the content.

The "some or all browsers?" test can help show whether the difference lies in that machine, and the "some or all sites?" test can help show whether the difference lies in a particular file. Knowing whether to look at the config or content would be the most reliable first step to speed troubleshooting.

(From the description above, I start to wonder whether this is a gradual failure, possibly related to memory demands, rather than a sudden failure at start with some type of alert dialog, but I'm likely reading too much between the lines there, sorry.)
