So if I understand you correctly you have your first image, 350x400 then
import another which is 700x800. Of this new image you will only see a
quarter of the area. Then you can click on it and grab is and scroll it
around in that 1/4 of total size window.
This is doable via filmloops.
Create a loop, with a place holder image in sprite 1 let's say, set it to
crop, put it on stage in sprite 10 and size it up.
then use tell
tell sprite(10) to sprite(1).member = someMember
also on sprite(10) put code something like this (off the top of my head)
property pStartLoc
property pTrack
on mouseDown me
pStartLoc = the mouseLoc
tell sprite(me.spriteNum)
pInsideStartLoc = sprite(1).loc
end tell
pTrack = 1
end
on enterFrame me
if pTrack then
offset = the mouseLoc - pStartLoc
tell sprite(me.spriteNum)
sprite(1).loc = pInsideStartLoc - offset
end tell
end if
end
on mouseUp me
pTrack = 0
end
on mouseUpOutside me
pTrack = 0
end

I use Buddy at runtime to open a dialog box and let the user choose an
image from his HD, but I can't figure out how to prevent the image
from conforming to the placeholder sprite on stage. Example: sprite
on stage is 350 px by 400 px, and when a new image is brought in that
is larger or smaller, the sprite adjusts the new image dimensions to
fit, like squeezing or stretching it. I'd like the new image to fit
within the sprite without changing new image dimensions, which brings
me to a second part: can anyone suggest an image scrolling behavior
somewhere? Once the new image is in place, I'd like to have the user
click and hold on the image to adjust its viewing position within the
sprite on stage. Asking too much for Director at runtime?
Thanks much for the help,
