If it's DVD then I suppose they may have made it possible, I do believe that we could have implemented support for non-DTS playback in Director but we didn't for copyright and performance concerns, thus we could have provided overlay ability but didn't. It doesn't sound too wild to me that it's possible, but you're right in that the description of being referred to Adobe sounds a bit odd as I'm not sure what they offer along those lines.
