You know what it was - a fauly CD-R! There must have something minor happened during th eburn or on the CD that prevented the app from quitting, but allowed the rest of it to run beautifully. When I did another burn that error disappeared completely, and it is now runnig fine! Sorry for the X-post, I wasn't sure whether and if most/all of 'us' are subscribed to the 'other' list as well, so I do (...did, ahem) that frequently simply to talk to more people.
