Possible workaround:

Have a local simple web page that you call that just has some simple javascript 
in it -- a focus statement and a javascript print statement that creates a 
meta-redirect. Then you simply always pass the desired URL to this page as a 
variable.

Kind of ugly, but it would work and solve your problem.
