Actually, I do quite a lot of back-and-forth between XML and property
lists, but my scripts aren't exactly generic. Sometimes I'm splitting
data from a single XML file into one or more lists, other times, there
are just peculiarities about how I want to structure the list.
The big question is: Do you actually need to convert the data from XML
to a property list? Depending on how the XML is structured and the type
of data you n, it can be accessed in a fashion almost identical to a
property list. I posted a follow-up to the article Mark mentioned on my

It shows how you can use array notation to access the XML nodes and data
almost exactly as you would a property or linear list.
