Anyone read the latest Edge?

In response to this article <http://www.macromedia.com/go/CYXQ>, since
she asked, I sent the email below.

Perhaps similar emails to her from others would help?

:-)

Dear Sara

Thank you for your article in Adobe Edge.

You asked for my thoughts and perspective - well here it is!

I use a wide range of Adobe technologies, but my favorite remains
Director. The very hands-on work of Tom Higgins in the Director
community is greatly appreciated, and I would love to see Tom and the
Director team get absolutely as much support as possible from Adobe.

We all know that Flash is an important tool, and now does some of the
things that were once Director's exclusive domain - but please do not
for a moment consider Flash as ultimately the replacement for Director.
Don't forget that to give Flash all of Director's capabilities, you
would have to make the Flash plug in as big as the Director one, and
quite frankly, Flash as a tool for making standalone (not web-based)
applications is a really poor substitute. See our software at
www.coolect.com for an example of a Director/Flash hybrid that
absolutely could not have happened in Flash alone.

There really does exist the opportunity for Adobe to market "Flash's big
brother" alongside Flash - it is my fervent hope that the new merged
company will see and seize that opportunity.

Kind regards,
Mark Whybird
