Thanks Dave and Cole

Good start so far it's moving me in the right direction. A clarification though on the concept itself if I may:

Using this 3-column approach Dave suggested, having the word as the unique key and then data detailing the filename and position in that file, how do I deal with multiple entries on the same key, such as 3 files all have a particular word in them, or the same word in multiple places in a single file? Or am I supposed to allow multiple entries of a word so I can assign unique filename and position data to them?

TIA

Ross
