Maybe the worst since most complicated solution, but at least ONE solution
to your problem:
Use on top of director another system that can read timecode AND control
director:
We have done that with DATATON TRAX (www.dataton.com) control gear. The
software is free, but you need another MAC and a control unit (SMARTPAX)
I presume that there is no software-only solution, because for
reading/decoding time code, you need some hardware stuff (in fact in the
hardware I know there is a special chip that does just that).
We probably wouldn't have done it this way if we weren't using Dataton stuff
anyway.
