If you want to have my advice once again, don't try it with serialXtra, don't try to get SMPTE timecode read by Director itself. It looks to me as if this is going to be a big event, where - besides quality - reliability is an issue. We have done things like that for years and I can only strongly recommend proven media control equipment - like as I said Dataton TRAX. Only once I have tried to do something with Director and a serial Xtra. It worked, but only "most of the time". I would never use it again. Dataton TRAX can safely read SMPTE Timecode and control virtually any equipment. And - most important, it can be connected to a computer running Director, they have written kind of an Xtra for that. the Synchronisation of the media is programmed on one or more timelines in TRAX - the user interface looking similar to the Director authoring environment. With this interface you can jump to any marker in the Director movie. Although in this case, 2 computers have to be hooked up, although it might be complicated, it is a proven and safe way to get things done. Get you a TRAX programmer and rent or buy the interface box, and don't think of TRYING to do it on your own. just my experience Michael von Aichberger [To remove yourself from this list, or to change to digest mode, go to http://www.penworks.com/lingo-l.cgi To post messages to the list, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Problems, email [EMAIL PROTECTED]).
