How did you establish that comparison? I am under the impression that even Sorenson2 gives a better quality/datarate ratio than mpeg1, so Sorenson3 should blow it away. Are you sure your test used an optimal encoding for Sorenson? Did you use Sorenson Pro 2 pass VBR? Do you have proper source material and preprocessing?
