Hello all-
Earlier (D7), I encountered what seemed to me to be a strange limitation
in the use of Flash members inside Director movies.
Using the loadMovie() -command is a very popular way of doing things in
the Flash world. In effect, one SWF file (usually on _level0) opens
other SWF files atop itself usually on _level1, _level2, etc.) A great
many flash projects, developed for the web, have used this approach.
Around D7, if a linked SWF file tried to open other SWF files within
itself with the loadMovie() -command, it failed miserably- which meant
that any flash projects made for web had to be totally reworked, if they
were to be put into a CD-presentation using Director.
Yesterday, I tested this quickly in D8.5.1 - and lo and behold, it
worked!
Checking the release notes for 8.5.1, there was no mention of this
marked improvement.
THE QUESTION:
Did I miss something, or am I playing with something unstable?
Anyone else have any experience with this?
I need some surety, because the issue has quite an impact on a client
proposal.
Regards,
Clars
