Here's the latest from me:

Connecting an Apple Cinema Display to the ADC connector, and a CRT to
the VGA connector, on an nVidia GeForce 4 MX does actually work, but
the 3D performance goes down noticeably. To connect those two screens
I've had to put the Cinema Display onto the nVidia, and the CRT onto
the ATI, and messed with monitors to make the CRT be the startup
screen.

The performance of the ATI isn't as good as the nVidia, but it's
going well enough that I can stay with this combination for now. My
real headache is going to come if I use the nVidia GeForce 4
Titanium, because I don't know how to drive a VGA monitor from that.
If I drive the Cinema Display with it that would be quite an under
use, because I'm mainly going to play videos on that screen.

If I connect the ATI to the Cinema Display, I'll have to use a DVI to
ADC adapter, which just seems a bit messy.
