Now now, a $1200 iBook gets about the same oomph as a PIII. Where we get off cheap is in the maintenance and upkeep costs. Since we are not rebooting the machines four or five times a day or paying for bench time to get 'em fixed *again* or running *yet another* virus check, we actually end up saving at least twice the machine's cost over just a few months.
