...And does not work with BuddyAPI, FileIO, or FileXtra3. So your 
comment here wouldn't have helped our original correspondent get his 
PDF to open. In fact he was trying it more or less your way.

Whether 'moviePath' has relevance *inside* Lingo or not, UNC does not 
work with most cases *outside* of Director. Thus it is very far from 
obsolete.
