If you don't want to upgrade to Director 8.5, you might try preloading the elements before they're needed. I don't know if preloading would prevent sounds like on-demand loading does, but it might be worth a try.

Dear all, I have an MP3 sound which I use as background music in Channel 1. I have around 35 external cast member which has the data and scripts. The problem is when I access sections of my projector which loads the data from the external cast, my sound pauses, I know that this is because the data is loaded from the CD and hence the problem but is there a way out of this solutions where my sound is keeps playing even though the data is loaded my casts. Like is it helpful if I use beatnik or some other sound format which is light ( currently my sound is 1min 30sec 22Khz 128Bit - 1.38MB MP3) I cannot compress it more as it would distort the quality. Please help Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanking you.
